I have absolutely no connection with Westhill Boiler Services other than they have supported me twice over the past 3 years. This small local Westhill company is one of the best businesses I have come across in over 40 years. I cannot praise them highly enough for an exceptional service and their overall way of doing business. I truly feel touched by 'goodness' (yes 'Shaun', that's who) and would recommend WBS to every household in our Westhill community and beyond. This might be a glowing recommendation which just happens to be true, factual and well deserved.

Sean gave us a quote, answered all questions we had even additional questions that we emailed. His quote was cheaper than our first quote by a good few hundred pounds and that was even without us saying what we had been quoted(which we never do). When he was quoting he explained everything that was going to be done and his quote included everything, so no hidden costs. I asked if he was able to turn 3 radiator valves, he did this with no issues. We got the Hive system installed at the same time, showed us the easy way on how to work this. He had a hive plug in his van that had been there for sometime and works fine. His workmanship was very good and all materials and waste was removed. I would recommend Westhill Boiler Services highly.

Why does the pressure keep dropping on my combi boiler?
There are 3 possible reasons for the pressure dropping. 1. you may have a leak somewhere on the system (boiler, radiators or pipework) 2. the pressure relief pipe may be activating (have a look at the pipe outside) 3. the expansion vessel may be flat and requires pumped back up. you can carry out a visual inspection on the system and the pipe outside, but you will require a qualified engineer to inspect the boiler.
What is the best combi boiler?
We are a Baxi Member here at SG Services and I believe Baxi platinum are the better combi boilers on the market; the boiler has been around for a few years now and is proven to be efficient and reliable. With a manufacturers guarantee of 10 years, they obviously have a lot of faith in its reliability. As for the kind of property suitable, there are different sizes of the Platinum, but a 2/3 bedroom house with 1 bathroom would suit a 28kw boiler version. To install a Baxi Platinum, I would charge £2,000 to customers.
