What are the benefits / advantages of installing CCTV?
CCTV mainly offers a deterrent to potential thieves and rarely has to be used to identify thieves in domestic situations. CCTV packages offered by most mainstream shops do not offer picture quality usually good enough to identify criminals. I would always ask the installer to provide the equipment based on the individuals environment to ensure the system is suitable for purpose.
How often should a house be rewired?
It really depends on the quality of the installation and how regularly it has been maintained. Manufacturers of pvc twin and earth will say 40 years before significant degradation of the wiring. However careful consideration should be taken to follow the installers instructions between electrical inspection condition reports. Having regular testing carries out on your installation will show and prevent any significant degrading of the wiring system.
What is the average cost to rewire a house?
Basic rewire costs in Oxfordshire cost from £2800 for a standard 3 bedroom property, considerations advised at this point for low energy lighting, upgraded fire detection, smart home technology, surge protection and any future planning. For example car chargers, extension or electric showers always advise including extra circuitry if suspect required in future due to lower cost at time of rewiring.
