Mike saved the day on Mother Day. He came to repair an electrical emergency at my parents home. The issue caused the whole house to loose power. Mike diagnosed the issue(s) quickly, called and organised the National Grid on our behalf, and solved the issue professionally and speedily and even repaired the wall for us. He was clear, precise and superbly knowledgeble about the issues, offering invaluable advice to my parents as well following up with a written report on the issue(s) and installation errors that he spotted whilst rectifying their wiring. There are good caring people out there and we found one in Mike - a thousand thanks.

Mr Cox checked the electrics throughout my recently purchased house. He found that there were many inaccuracies in the report I had been given by the sellers, and that much of the work I had been told was necessary did not in fact need to be done, thus saving me considerable expense. Amongst other things he fixed the shower, replaced four new interior lights and some light switches, an outside light, and installed an RCD in the fuse box. At all stages of the work Mr Cox explained what he was doing and why. His work was very thorough, everything was done to a very high standard, he was friendly and courteous, and his bill was far less than I had expected to pay. I cannot imagine ever using another electrician in the future and highly recommend him for any electrical work that might be required.

My name is Michael Cox, I am a SparkSafe LtP registered, independent JIB approved electrical specialist with years of experience and knowledge of legislation, codes, standards of practice as well as BS 5839 Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems.
Experienced in installing, maintaining, testing and commissioning electrical and fire alarm systems in a domestic, commercial and industrial environment. I am fully qualified, certified and insured for all works carried out, I will also provide certificates for qualifying work.
Currently based in Bideford, I conduct most of my work in and around North Devon.

What is an electrical installation condition report?
This report or EICR is also known as a Home Buyers, Landlords Report or Periodic Inspection. This report identifies electrical defects within the property and should be carried out every 1 to 10 years (depending on your property type and use). Other times this inspection should be carried out are when the property is being prepared for letting, before selling or buying a previously occupied property, or if you are unsure on the state of your electrical install. It is very important that you use an Electrician that has the correct qualifications (i.e City & Guilds 2391 or EAL 4337/4338), also they have a valid Public Liability AND Professional Indemnity insurance in-place.

I recommend a home integrated system like the Hive or Yale. They're popular with homeowners, very easy to use and they're easy for us installers to install, which in our opinion makes them the best cctv system on the market. No matter whether you're a homeowner or a business owner, we'd recommend installing Hive or Yale

I worked with Mike on a couple of new home (house bashing) installs and a couple of shop fitting jobs, we we both sub-contracted by a larger company. Mike is very professional at whatever task is give , I find giving him a job sheet and letting him crack on works best, never cuts corners and if he signs off work you know it’s been 100% tested and good to go. He does like his coffee.
