Unfortunately, I can’t recommend the services of DV Plumbing and Gas. I hired Duncan in late Nov 2022 to fit a new boiler, remove old kitchen pipework and ready pipework for a new kitchen and underfloor heating. After agreeing on a make and model of boiler (something I was very specific about) I was later to discover that this had been substituted for a much less powerful and cheaper model. After also trying repeatedly but unsuccessfully to contact and schedule Duncan to finish the job – and to fix heating that wasn’t working properly since the boiler refit, I was eventually forced to contact other plumbers to get the job complete. A number of issues and shortcuts related to the work done by DV Plumbing and Gas were then identified by multiple people. The remedies for them have added significantly to my costs and caused more delays. Duncan’s solution to all of this was to refund me £155 – supposedly the price difference between the boiler ordered and the one he supplied on the day. I feel very let down by DV Plumbing - not only for the substituted boiler but for the general shortcuts, the mess left on the day, and the abysmal communication and service when problems were identified. It was a very costly mistake to trust DV Plumbing. Overall, the work was messy, the service completely unreliable and most sadly of all, less than honest.

Duncan was extremely knowledgeable and unlike some trades, took the time to come to the property and discuss options for installation according ot our budget and time constraints. We are really pleased with the work completed and wont hesitate to use or recommend Duncan in the future.

How long does bath sealant take to dry?
Bathroom sealant ideally needs 4 to 5 hours to dry, sometimes it depends on the manufacturers recommendations as there are different types of sealants and it is always better to read the instructions before applying. We always advise our customers to let it stand for 24 hours to be sure.
Why service a boiler? What are the benefits of boiler servicing?
Why servicing your boiler is important: Every boiler must be serviced once a year to make sure the boiler is being maintained and in good working order. There are many checks that are done on a service, these are to make sure the occupants are safe in their home as well as the boiler is in good health. A gas safe engineer can see if something could cause a problem in the near future, a lot of the time the issue can be fixed during the service at no extra cost.
What are the benefits of powerflushing?
Benefits of power-flushing your heating system. Well there are loads of benefits to this and the main one would be to protect your boiler from getting clogged up with sludge from your radiators. Most boilers have a filter or sensors that end up damaged due to a dirty system. This would put your boiler out of action. No hot water or heating on a cold winters day is not what I call fun. The other benefits would be radiators would work much better and more efficiently. If your radiator is getting hot at the top and not at the bottom then you need a power flush, if it’s getting hot at the bottom and not the top then you need to bleed the radiators.
