What is the best CCTV camera / security system for night vision?

Hikvision offer some amazing solutions for CCTV systems with continuing developments in night vision. The DarkFighter and ColorVu ranges have some great functionalities for both Day and Night vision, they are able to hold a colour image for longer as the daylight fades possibly all night if there is a streetlight close by, and the colorVu incorporates a built in light that will give that colour image all night. They have a range of quality options too, all the way up to 4K offering amazing image quality. There's nothing worse than finding out that CCTV footage is next to useless when it is really needed due to poor image quality.

How much does it cost to replace a consumer unit / fuse board?

Prices can vary depending on the installation, however for your average house you are looking at anything from £400 upwards. If prices are well below this then you are probably not getting a quality installation that includes the testing and certification with it. We encourage customers to have an EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) completed beforehand, this gives the customer a complete picture of their electrical installation and any faults or issues that may need to be rectified before the Consumer Unit is replaced.

We tend to use Hager Consumer Units, they provide exceptional quality with a range of features and accessories. You can get split-load RCD Versions or go for full RCBO protection offering higher protection and less disruption should a fault occur. Hager boards do come in at a higher cost than most though. Another great option which we have recently started using are Fusebox by CP, these consumer units are great boards at a lower price than Hager. They still have a great range of options and accessories to choose from and are quickly becoming quite popular among electricians.
