Gas Guardian Ltd answered the question "Why is there no power coming to my boiler?"

There are a number of reasons why power may not appear to be coming to your boiler. Some example scenarios are below: -MCB or RCD protection has tripped cutting power supply to boiler circuit. -Fuse that supplies boiler has blown. -Some boilers only have a switched Live supply, meaning it could be an external motorised valve, programmer or other system control causing the power supply issue -There could be power going to the boiler, but no display/lights showing due to a faulty component/blown internal fuse. Sometimes this may be an intermittent problem, which can be a component showing signs of failure, or in the event of tripping RCD’s, earth leakage. Any of the reasons outlined should be investigated further by a qualified engineer to determine cause, as it is rare for a fuse/safety device to fail without reason.

There could be a few reasons why this is happening. It may have tripped at the main board. The fuse in the spurr may have blown. The fuse in the boiler may have blown. The pcb may have blown. It could just be that the switch has been knocked off. If you have checked the main board and replaced the fuse in the spurr and still nothing is happening then contact a electrician or a gas safe registered engineer. It may be a wiring fault externally to the boiler.

Loss of power can be from either the consumer unit where a fuse has tripped/blown or from the spur switch fuse which should be by the boiler. If neither of these 2 then an engineer should be called out as the problem may be a blown fuse on the boiler's pcb or the pcb itself may be faulty. Always call out a Gas safe engineer for boiler related faults.

if there is no power coming to your boiler firstly check that the power at your fuse box is on and then secondly check that the fuse spur is turned on at the boiler. if all this is on then you will require a engineer as it may be that a component inside the boiler like the PCB has gone faulty or a internal fuse may have blown. call michael www.iplumbleeds.co.uk on 0113 80 567 83 or 07950298097

This could be caused by a faulty component inside the boiler, we would advise you first check three things. 1) The boiler is switched on. 2) The fused spur for the boiler hasn't been switched off and the 3amp fuse is ok. 3) The fuse board hasn't tripped. If all of these are ok, then you'll need to call a local qualified engineer.

If you have no power getting to your boiler this could be a tripped fuse. Most boilers and heating system controls use a 3amp, if this is replaced but still not working then the problem could be with the pcb within the boiler. BoilerOne recommend you consult a gas safe registered engineer to diagnose the problem.
