As long as the fittings are suitably IP rated (waterproof) for the environment they are going in then the world really is your oyster when it comes to outside lights. Below are some of the main examples we use. | Wall Lights | Spike Lights | Flood Lights | Ground Marker Lights | Festoon Lights | LED strips | Spotlights | Once you know what type of light you want or what end result you want to achieve its time to think about: - The colour temperature of the light: Generally cool white, Natural white or Warm white. But how about multi colour changing lights? - The colour finish on the fittings: Black, White, Grey, Green, or how about bare metal finishes like Steel, Bronze or Brass? - How to control them: Switches, Timers, Sensors or Smart controls by Controllers or Phone Apps

I find that lighting is down to personal preference with the vast amount of different styles, however some good brands to keep an eye out for are the likes of Osram, Philips, Collingwood, Timeguard. As with most things the higher quality lights are going to also have a higher price but it is always best to go to the top end of your budget.

I tend to let customers choose there own outside lights as it's each person's own style and preferable they pick their own. I encourage the customer to go for the trusted manufacturers as although the extra cost it's worth every penny, as lots of the cheap light fittings tend to fail much quicker usually due to water getting inside the fitting.

I tend to let customers get there own light fittings unless it a bog standard type of fitting as they know what they like and don’t like. I recommend a brand name led type fitting such as osram rather than a cheap alternative that may only last a short time, I often tell my customers buy cheap buy twice. If I purchase lighting I will always go for a good quality fitting such as Osram

This all comes down to preference with what the customer likes and also requires. In my opinion for flood lighting I fit Osram LED floods as they give out a brilliant flood of light with a very high Lumen output which is the intensity of the light. I have fitted quite a few of these lights and have had no issues with them at all. They are easy to wire and are smaller than most of their competitors, comparing to a Luxna from Yesss electrical the Lumens are about 4-5 higher and the fitting is half the size so a no brainer for me to fit. Also for LED Flourescent light replacements I would always use Ansell Tornado LED 5ft fittings as they are well priced and give out great lighting compared with other brands and they are very reliable with no stoppage on any I have fitted.
