The best time of year for exterior painting is between the months of April and October, when weather temperatures are above 10 degrees. Paints should only be used externally above 8 degrees so the paint can fully dry and cure. The warmer the weather the better the paint will cure.

My recommendation would be April through to late September . Temperatures and weather conditions should be more favourable during these months. Avoid cold, damp and rainy conditions during paint application, adhesion and quality of finish would be greatly affected. Considration should also be given when working in extreme high temperatures with regards your health and saftey.

Best time would normally be from mid April to end October - weather permitting! Some manufacturers have launched paints which allow you paint outside this window, however, drying times are increased when it's cold, and walls may be damp. Ideally you need a period of settled dry weather.

Generally the best time.of year would be between rhe months of June through to October, however it will be weather dependant and eary spring can also be warm. The issue is humidity in the air. Paints take longer to dry and cure and too damp it will fail instantly but not show until later. If you want a long lasting finish then summer/autumn months are best.

We will always recommend the best time to paint an exterior is between end of march and end of November . The key facts are : temperatures above 8 degrees, no dampness or rain otherwise the paint work can be affected. The paint might not get a good bond and this will reduce longevity.

A good question and for us at Jason Gunter Decorating then we would suggest from when the weather breaks which could be the end of March to April has we prefer to use water based masonry which is best suited to when we have good weather.Paint should be allowed to dry under favourable conditions like its meant to so painting in the late autumn to winter and early spring would be best with a pliolite masonry paint instead.

We get asked this alot and we start our outsides around the end of April beginning of may all the way up to the end of October. Reason is that if you paint out of these times your more likely to have frost, damp and cold which will not only affect the drying time but will affect the way it drys. If paint can't dry in the manner it's meant to it will not last as long and you may find you will be wanting it doing again in 6 months or so.

It is important to not carry out any exterior decorations works on a property when it’s freezing, rain/dampness. This can cause issues and will effectively not provide you with the finish your property deserves. We would recommend a temperature of 8 Degree’s plus to carry out any works on your property with the potential of a clear break in bad weather in order for you to complete the re decoration.
