A Baxi boiler with an error code of e133 is related to ignition failure, the usual cases you can check are, gas meter is in credit, the emergency control valve has not been knocked shut to off position. The condense pipework could also be blocked. After checking these we recommend you consult a gas safe registered engineer to diagnose the problem.

The E133 Baxi Fault code doesn’t have one particular cause, it can be one of many different issues causing this code The definition it gives is a loss of ignition or flame failure. This can be caused by a number of things, ranging from no incoming gas supply right through to a blocked condense pipe The best thing to do if you encounter a E133 code on a Baxi Boiler is to call a Gas Safe Registered Engineer to Carry out a full diagnosis

E133 fault code indicates an interruption of gas supply or ignition failure, this means the boiler has attempted to ignite 3 - 5 times and failed. Possible causes could be a gas supply fault - ie fault on the gas meter or ecv, undersized gas pipe work, a faulty gas valve, pcb, spark generator, ignition/detection leads, ignition/detection electrodes, blocked condensate trap, flue faulty

Like most boiler fault codes the E133 fault code has several contributory factors. The code itself is ignition failure , the boiler PCB senses there is a problem with the ignition process and shuts down displaying the E133 fault, on a Duotec or Platinum model the fault will appear on the display as E1 followed by 33. Causes of this fault are lack of gas supply to the boiler, no spark from the electrodes , a blocked flue or blocked condensate pipe. If the Homeowner has a Gas Hob or fire then the presence of gas is easy to prove (although this doesn't mean the correct amount of gas is flowing to the boiler) Another check a homeowner can do is to check that the condensate pipe (Plastic pipe coming from beneath boiler and going to a drain) is clear, in winter it can become frozen or maybe blocked where it is entering the drainage system

E133 is a gas supply error or flame failure error. Check that you have gas coming into the building, an easy way is if you have a gas hob turn it on to see if you have a working supply. If there is no gas check you have credit and it's been activated on a prepayment meter, if you pay monthly you might need to call your supplier. If you do have working Gas then a gas safe engineer will be required to check the the boiler as it could be a faulty gas valve or if it's cold outside a frozen condensate pipe.

E133 is no gas detected/failed ignition. Make sure you have gas if you have a hob check the burners. If no gas is present check your meter if pre payment make sure you have credit. If a credit meter contact the esp on 0800111999. If gas is present contact a local gas safe registered engineer, who whill check over and confirm the fault

E133 is an ignition lock out, this can be from lack of gas or a fault on the ignition sequence. The first check a heating engineer should do is the inlet pressure to see if the gas valve is opening up and there is sufficient pressure for the burner to light. Then check the ignitor and electrodes. Please note only a Gas Safe engineer should make these checks.

E133 is failure to light, ensure your gas meter is switched on and hasnt been switched off accidently. If you have a pre-payment meter make sure you have credit on the meter. If you have gas and still suffering from the fault you will need to contact your local Gas Safe registred engineer.

A E133 code is a failed ignition this could be caused by no gas to the appliance, step 1 would be to check meter for credit while also checking valve is in the correct position ( shown by stickers/labels) after these steps try and reset the boiler if this does not work a gas safe registered engineer will need to attend as the fault may be due to a faulty gas valve causing boiler to fail on ignition or a faulty flame detection probe or no spark is be generated by the ignition probes

e133 on a baxi/potterton boiler has failed to ignie. this can be down to a lack of gas getting to the boiler or if you have a prepaid gas meter. it is likely you may have run out of gas. please check your credit on your meter. the other fault can be down to lack of spark or sensing probes sensing their is a flame. you will need a engineer to fault find for this. regards Rob Hpe heating and plumbing Engineer

MB Gas & Heating Ltd answered the question "What is the Baxi boiler e133 fault / error code?"

E133 Error on a Baxi boiler suggests that the boiler has tried to ignite and failed after several attempts, or the boiler has fired and the flame has not been detected therefore it has shut down for safety reasons. First thing to check is that you have gas in the property, if you have a token meter then check you have credit, if you have a cooker then light the hob. If you have gas then the next step is to reset the boiler, if after resetting the boiler the boiler still does not work or the error code reappears then call a gas safe registered engineer

Bells Heating & Gas answered the question "What is the Baxi boiler e133 fault / error code?"

The E133 code is "Ignition Fault" or "Flame Failure". This fault code can range from faulty ignition probes, Flame rectification probe or simply the gas meter credit has ran out. If this fault occurs, try resetting your boiler, if all else fails check to make sure you have credit on your meter & that your ECV (Emergency Control Valve) is switched on.
