There are several common faults that occur with Worcester boilers. Pin hole in the flow manifold. This results in a fine mist of water being sprayed all over the internal components and can lead to costly repairs if not dealt with swiftly. Next is the domestic hot water flow cartridge leaking. This is located above the divertor valve motor and later models now have a rubber cover over the motor to help prevent motor damage when this part invariably leaks.

Worcester boilers are extremely reliable boilers, that is why we choose to work with them as accredited installers. But like any high technology mechanical equipment that is working heavily it is imperative that the boilers are serviced regularly and correctly. Worcester require that after no more than 5 years use the boiler is fully stripped and various seals etc are replaced and the a thorough internal clear out is carried out, it is this lack of in depth service that appears to be missed most consistently and this can lead to some serious issues. If your boiler has not received this full service procedure and is at least 5 years old we would suggest you consider contacting your local installer and ensuring this is carried out at the next due service date.

Worcester-Bosch boilers are the most reliable boilers according to 'Which?' the consumers association who have reported this to be so for several years. However the most common faults are caused by lack of servicing or incorrectly installed/routed condense pipework. Lack of servicing will lead to blocked condense traps, poor or incomplete combustion with reduced overall efficiency and too high a carbon dioxide count from the flue which pollutes our atmosphere.

The most common fault that we have found with Worcester boilers is lack of servicing, this causes the condensate trap to fill with sand and block up with water ultimalty cutting off boiler operations. The other common faults that we have is the plastic components leaking. We have found the cold water restrictor leaking after 10-12 years and also the hot water plastic outlet leaking around 10-12 years.
