One of the advantages that doesn’t often get mentioned is that if something is to go wrong then it’s most likely in one place “the combi boiler” The traditional system incorporates the boiler, cylinder cupboard and roof tanks so there are a number of different problems that can occur especially with an old system. Install a new combi boiler means getting rid of the old stuff and obtaining a decent warranty as some manufacturers are offering 10+ years of cover. A worthwhile investment if it’s done by the wright person. Avoid the large national companies. Shop local and use a recommended local trader.

The main advantages of a combi boiler are combi boilers can free up space as they do not store water so if you have a traditional system such as tanks in loft, cylinder in airing cupboard would no longer be required. Combi boiler hot water works on a flow switch so it can sense hot water demand and provide instant hot water. BoilerOne recommend you ask a gas safe registered engineer to advise on the best boiler for you.

The main advantages of having a combi boiler are heating on demand as you turn the hot tap on and space saving as with a combi you no longer need a water tank in the loft of a cylinder in a cupboard. Most boilers will fit in a standard kitchen unit so can be tucked up out the way freeing up valuable storage.

Hot water efficiency is improved on a combi boiler so running costs should be less, combi boilers only heat the water on demand, they also take up less space so an airing cupboard may not be necessary. initial cost of installation may also be less. Combi boilers are currently the most popular choice of boiler in the UK.

A combination boiler is very efficient as it will only heat hot water when you open up a tap (instant hot water) rather than heating a tank full of water daily. You can see a considerable drop in energy bills when installing a combi boiler replacing an old tank fed system. A combination boiler is mains pressured and therefore has a good hot water flow rate. The heating system is also pressurised. You usually gain space when installing a combination boiler in place of a conventional system as there is no longer a need for the hot water tank and storage tanks in loft.
