It depends on a lot of factors and what the customer wants. An average painters day rate could range dramatically from someone down the pub who just wants some cash to get by to someone who runs a company, so you could be looking at 80 to 250 a day but it all depends on what needs to be done for me I would rather go and see a client to see what they are looking for so I can give a more accurate quote.

depends on the skill set per individual decorator. anything ranging from £140/250 a day. I personally price per job as this is better for you the customer. individual jobs i.e feature wallpaper for one wall you would be looking at £90/110 with paste included. also the price reflects on area .

What job do you require completed? Stripping wallpaper doesn't require a highly skilled decorator so a brush hand or labourer would provide the manpower for that task. Wallpapering is a highly skilled area and so rates for papering are usually higher. Spraying again will add to the costs. Dust free sanding is another area that will increase the price although the finish and health benefits to all are incredible. So "day rate" depends on experience as well as tooling for the specified job. Someone starting out will usually be less than an established decorator. And an established decorator who's not busy will be cheaper than a busy one. Consideration must be made on the overall service, finish, quality and compared like for like to reveal the true cost.

Most decorators charge £90-£210 in the East Midlands area. The price is very dependent on skill set of the decorator & how much time served they have done. But most decorators will charge ‘price work’ rather than ‘day rate’ A day rate price is more for when the decorator is working for another company or the customer insists a day rate.

Dependent on skill set im afraid. You will be paying for their knowledge and experience and that in it self can save you money .The least qualified painter and decorator you would be looking at around £120 rising to around £160-£200 for an experienced hand.You also have to remember an saying `If you think that decorators are expensive,then wait till you hire and amateur` ,this is a very good saying and it will cost more to put right a job right after its been botched.

A decorator can charge anywhere between £80 to £250 depending on skill. Most decorators will charge by the job which is good for you the customer because you know the total cost of the job from start to finish. If a decorator is on a day rate just be sure the set work is getting completed each day.

As with most things it's varied. It can be area dependant and also skill based. On average most self employed decorators charge between £120 to £170 per day going up to around £300 a day for the highly skilled ones. Sub contracting decorators the rate can be from £80 to £150 a day, £80 being the rate for a painting labourer.
