We had a fault with the boiler and we rang Nick Keeble and son for advice. Ted talked us through steps to get it working. We booked Ted for a service where the most thorough service was carried out. He found a fault on the circuit board which had to be replaced. Leaky pipework was replaced. He showed us how the boiler works using language that we could understand. He set up the boiler with efficient settings for heating which had never been set up despite B Gas carrying out services for over 10 years. Ted is very knowledgeable, friendly, punctual, tidy and reasonable prices.

We called Nick Keeble and son shortly after 9AM after finding the business on Google. We had tried a handful of other firms who all stated they ran a 24 hour call out service but no others answered the phone. Ted was with us a couple of hours after our initial call and made the gas tap safe immediately. He was very friendly, informative and polite, I felt very comfortable having him in our home. The price we paid was certainly worth the work provided. Before he left her ensured our boiler was on and the gas supply to our gas supply was safe and working. This was the second time Ted had been to us. Before contacting we had previously been told that our boiler wasn’t worth fixing, and that we needed a new one. Ted’s immediate reaction was that he though it was a good boiler and he could fix it! He did, in about an hour, and it’s been great ever since. We followed up again to get him to clean our system to help keep it running smoothly and more efficiently. We have been so impressed with Ted’s attitude, which is that he would always rather repair than replace. Our gas fire was so badly re-installed by our builder's heating engineer that it triggered our carbon monoxide alarm. Our boiler had broken down and the company that provide our breakdown cover were unable to find anyone who could come out to us that day. I rang Nick Keeble and Son mid afternoon on the off-chance that they could help us out, and Nick was able to attend within half an hour. He diagnosed the problem quickly, and even drove into Taunton to collect the part needed before returning and fitting it. I couldn’t have asked for a better service! During annual servicing, Ted spotted the early signs of corrosion of the boiler backplate due to cracking of the plastic flue inside the boiler. Today's job was to replace the flue and clean up the back plate to check that the corrosion was only superficial. Ted turned up on time (in fact slightly early) and did the job efficiently, explaining what he was doing when I looked in on him, and showing me the cleaned backplate before reassembling the boiler. The boiler 's expected life has been restored, which will more than repay the cost of the work.

Ted came for a simple bolier service on Thursday, but discovered that the last "tradesman" had just put sticking plaster over holes in the flue. We lost heat and water for a day, but this saved us being axphysiated, so no complaints there! Ted has a complete, working knowledge of Vailant gas boilers and wet central heating systems generally. We called him with an emergency and he attended promptly. However the boiler still had problems, the water would heat but when it got to the temperature it would then cut out. He thought it might be the electrical panel and said he would try to get a reconditioned one which would be cheaper for me. He was determined to try and repair my boiler rather than scraping it. (Very commendable, these days most tradesmen would scrap it and get you to buy a new one). When he was leaving he just said he’d look at the outside flue and couldn’t believe his eyes as there was a birds tail feathers protruding out of the flue. Unfortunately it was a dead blue tit wedged firmly into the grill. He got it out and boiler works perfectly. He said he’d only seen this once before but the boiler didn’t work at all, which mine did work and then cut out. I am very impressed with his determination and the fact he wanted to repair the boiler rather than selling me a new one. (I now have a fully serviced boiler which needed to be done) I would thoroughly recommend him.
