We have used Mel for a number years and not only does he respond promptly, but he is always reliable. We are so confident that he will not only get the best price for equipment, but that he ensure we get best value for money. For example, we needed to replace a bathroom shower. Mel sourced a top of the range Aguila system that was on special offer and passed all the saving on to us. So when we asked him to replace a heated towel rail last week, I didn't even bother to ask for a quote.

Melvyn has been my plumbing expert for about 5 years now and as always he is professional, efficient and does a fantastic job. He had good Covid practises, always wore a mask and came in with mud guard on his shoes. This time he fitted my shower and tidied up. Like always a complete job at a competitive rate!

What are the benefits of installing an unvented cylinder?
Unvented cylinders are becoming the norm as they provide you with hot water at mains pressure. You will get a better shower without the need of a seperate pump, baths will fill quicker. Both your hot and cold will have balanced pressures, giving you access to high quality fittings. The tank in your loft will no longer be needed therefore less risk of frozn pipes in your loft space.
How to fix a leaking / dripping tap?
Isolate tap from the mains, remove the tap handle and then the valve. Depending on whether you have a full turn tap or a 1/4 turn tap the repairs are different. On a full turn it will be the rubber washer that has worn, simply remove the old and replace with one the same size. If a 1/4 turn tap the ceramic cartridge will need replacing, it is easier to do this if you know the tap manufacturer. As there are numerous versions of a cartridge, it is sometimes easier to just replace the tap.

First come across mels work in 1993 in a guest house in St Ives Cornwall he had fitted all the sanitary /en-suite/showers and bathrooms to a very high standard.I met Mel again when he was trading as MJS plumbing and heating at the Phex Coventry in 2008 2009 then every year at Manchester phex we would share each other's plumbing stories and gather the literature available on the exhibition stalls .His customers are pleased with his work I've seen the work for myself I fully recommend him
