A big Thank You to Michael Tully at MET Electrical, who did a superb job fitting our new Kitchen, Bathroom and En-Suite. He provided use with three excellent itemised quotes for the three jobs. There was no 'hidden extras' and Michael even altered/ reimbursed costs where items had to be changed or work was not required. He provided excellent advice throughout. As you can imagine Michael spent along time at our house and we got to know him well, he is a genuinely nice guy, very professional, polite and honest. Nothing was too much trouble. We trusted him implicitly and where happy to leave him unsupervised and even go on holiday. My wife and I are so pleased with the excellent standard of his work and would have no hesitation in recommending him.

MET ripped out our very old bathroom and reinstalled. Including new floor boards...
MET ripped out our very old bathroom and reinstalled. Including new floor boards, walls and ceiling replastered. New lights and new shower, sink and toilet. Mike was punctual and full communication throughout. Stuck to the quote, any additional work was explained in full so felt very comfortable with that. He tidied away and hoovered every afternoon before he left. Would happily recommend MET.

What is the average cost to rewire a house?
The average cost to rewire a house isn't a straightforward answer. Each situation is different and the overall cost depends upon the clients requirements and specification. Factors that influence the cost are the number and type of sockets - are there any USB sockets, are they metallic etc. How many lights and what type are required - specialised smart lighting or decorative fittings will dramatically change the cost. There is also a number of options for the fuse board/consumer unit, with different circuit protection available, as well as the calculations for surge protection, which all influence the cost. The best way is to obtain a number of quotes to the same specification and choose the electrician you feel most comfortable with and that you feel would do the work to the standard that you would like.
Why are my sockets / electrical outlets not working on one wall?
There could be a number of reasons for this issue. We would recommend a call to an Electrician to inspect the wiring and find the issue. This could be caused by a loose or damaged cable, resulting in loss of power to the sockets supplied by the circuit; there could be a fuse/MCB or RCD/RCBO that has tripped and has caused the loss of power or a switch that controls the power for those sockets could have been turned off. We do not advise trying to inspect and check electrics if you are not trained and qualified to do so, as this can be very dangerous!
Where can LED lights be used in the home?
LED lighting can be used anywhere in the home. With advancing technology there are many products to choose from to provide for any requirement you may have. LED lighting also uses a lot less power than traditional lighting methods and so you have to option to install more lighting in different areas without too much concern for the power that would be potentially used.
