Dan was scheduled to fit an external light to the front of my property and look at an existing eternal light and cctv that wasn’t working. The light at the front was fitted but due to high winds Dan was unable to access the other areas as it was not safe to do so. He will be coming back to sort the others out. I have used Dan now a number of times and would always recommend him to others as he always provides a professional service

We used Dan to complete a install of TV bracket and putting the tv on the wall as well as electrics to our shed. The work was quick, to a high standard and all for a decent price. Had certificates for the electrical work too. Would highly recommend for any electrical works big or small.

How often should a house be rewired?
A rewire could be required once installed over 25 years. It all depends how well the wiring system has been maintained and the condition/ quality of the cables. The best way to find this out is a electrical installation condition report (EICR) Another tell tail sign of old wiring is a old style fuse board with fuse wire rather than MCBs A rewire is a very disruptive task and I would always recommend considering a rewire when buying a new home if you think the wiring may be old as it is a lot easier therefore cheaper to rewire an empty house and the mess made to decoration isn’t as inconvenient.
Does new electrical equipment need to be PAT tested?
A new item will have been tested by the manufacturer and should not need a test for the first year, However some insurance companies or heath and safety officers may request that all items are tested regardless of age. If in Doubt get the item tested and get a sticker on the item
How much does a PAT test cost?
Prices vary depending on area and company, some companies will charge 50p per item some will charge £5 per item. as with most things I believe your better off going for someone in the middle, I charge £2.50 per item. this allows me to spend enough time on each item and give it a thorough test.
