Gasrite arrived on the day and at the time promised. Chris had an excellent knowledge of my old Baxi Solo Central Heating Boiler. He analysed the problem (Carbon Monoxide leak, alarm activated) in no time, cleaned and serviced the boiler and got it running like a new one with low flue emissions on test. Excellent job, he rescued my old boiler for another year; I’ve booked him again for next years’ service.

GASRITE provided the Heating Engineering and Plumbing on my house renovation. I contacted GASRITE after hearing about them from a friend. They came to the house to assess the work required, I got the immediate impression of a professional company that has a lot of knowledge and experience, I felt I could trust GASRITE to do the job. The work that GASRITE carried out included; fitting a brand new central heating system (combi-boiler, radiators, pipework), new gas pipework throughout, installation of a four-piece bathroom (bath, sink, lavatory, separate shower), fitted out all the kitchen (sink, pipework, washing machine supply and drain), all drainage and soil stack. GASRITE commissioned the combi-bolier, with the official certificate arriving a week later. All the work has been carried out to a very high standard, I have not encountered any issues with any of GASRITE's work. All the work was done within the time frame they quoted, and they kept me informed of all progress. Because GASRITE did a very good job on the house renovation I have had them in again to service the boiler. Will definitely be using again.

After having problems with our boiler we decided to go for a new one. We contacted Gasrite who immediately got a new boiler on order and arrived at the time/date he said he would. We were very pleased and impressed with the job and was completed to a very high standard. Gasrite came back a week later after the boiler had been fitted to check the system which he cleaned out as it was sludgy from previous boiler. Overall highly recommend and have no problems ringing Gasrite for future work. A trusted member of the trade. Thank you

When is the best time to service a boiler?
We advise late summer or autumn as the best time to get your boiler serviced, in preparation for the colder months ahead. Also, this ensures that any potential issues would be picked up before we get into the winter months. Boilers should be serviced at least once every 12 months to ensure safe and efficient operation of the appliance
What is a flueless gas fire?
A flueless gas fire does not require a flue/chimney to remove products of combustion (fumes). Instead it uses a catalytic converter built into the appliance to 'clean' the gasses producing carbon dioxide. For this reason, flueless gas fires are considered the most efficient type of room heater, although they are not recommended to be used as a primary heat source in a dwelling. They are designed to supplement existing heat sources like centrally heated radiators. A purpose provided vent is required through to outside air (usually 100cm2). This is in order for the appliance to breath. Gas fires require air for the gasses to burn efficiently. A downside to flueless gas fires is that they are usually quite low output, so more designed for decorative effect. Condensation can build up in a room containing a flueless gas fire. Water vapour is a natural bi-product of gas when combustion occurs and as the appliances do not require a flue or chimney the water vapour stays within the room if not ventilated properly. As with all gas appliances, a suitable carbon monoxide alarm is required within the room and the appliance should be serviced and safety checked at regular intervals.
