What are the common signs a consumer unit / fuse boards needs to be replaced?
Hopefully this will give a simple and concise opinion; 1: signs of thermal damage, heat marks, scorch marks etc 2: damaged, cracked or missing enclosure. (Could you put your finger into something live) 3: non RCD protection. This would be a recommendation to upgrade 4: additional works that would require an upgrade to the board
What is the average cost to rewire a house?
General rule of thumb would be £1000 per bedroom plus £500. This would be for standard white plastic accessories and quantity. Additional points and or decorative would considerably increase material costs. This would also need to be on an empty house. “Lived in” rewires would be double if not triple due to time.
