I was locked out as I had lost my keys, I called SRS and Steve came out to help...
I was locked out as I had lost my keys, I called SRS and Steve came out to help me. He arrived within 20 minutes as he was local to me and opened my door really quickly without causing any damage. He was very friendly and polite, explained what he needed to do and gave me the price upfront before doing any work. Everything he told me was true and he did not charge anything other than what we agreed. Lovely guy and would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

Can a locksmith make a key from a lock?
Yes, this is possible however quite a lot of Labour is involved due to having to open the actual lock and it would probably work out around the same price, if not cheaper, to simply replace the Lock itself. Most locks come with 2-3 Keys as standard however more can be added if needs be, just as the question. Also remember, if you don't have your original key and need to have a Key Impressioned, you are still running the risk of somebody else having the key which you have not got so i would always recommend changing the locks anyway.
How long does it take to change a lock?
If we have access to the lock, a Euro Cylinder on a UPVC or Composite Door should take no longer than a couple of minutes to change. A Mortice or Mortice Sash Lock can be changed quickly also, however, as there are many different shapes and sizes, some work may need to be done to ensure a secure fit and this can take longer as it can mean Chiseling the wood by hand. I would expect that the longest a Mortice Lock should take to be fitted is 1 hour, maximum. If your Multi-point Locking Mechanism on a UPVC or Composite Door needs to be replaced, this can again take quite a bit of time, especially if new handles or keeps are needed as well.
How much does it cost for a locksmith to unlock your house?
Again, completely depends on the type of door and the circumstances you find yourself in. My best advice would be to call of couple of Local Locksmiths and ask them for a Fully Inclusive price for gaining entry to your home and if required, the price or replacing and fitting new locks for you. Make sure to ask for a FULLY INCLUSIVE PRICE as many will quote you for gaining entry, the lock and fitting and then spring a "Call Out Fee" on you at the last moment. Most Locksmiths will charge a Premium for Late Night, weekend or Public Holiday call out to ensure that you double check the FULLY INCLUSIVE PRICE before agreeing. FULLY INCLUSIVE PRICING takes out the unknown and the worry, a good and respected Locksmith should have nothing to hide so give a couple a call and see what they can offer you before deciding.
