Very disappointed & let down posted 12/02/2022
I am very very disappointed & upset with Rob's attitude. I'm sorry it has come to this, I have been a good customer for the past 4 year's, but I have given him enough chances to rectify the problem & after 2 phone calls, text's & 2 week's to respond, he has chosen to ignore us, even putting the phone down when my husband tried to talk to him. He installed a new boiler for me 4 years ago but I've had problems with it for the past 2 year's. He charged me for a new part last year but this still didn't rectify it. We've managed to just top up the pressure when needed, but a couple of weeks ago it was really leaking. It was due a service so I booked it in. Rob came round on the 25th January & found where a valve was leaking, but suggested I call Vaillant as they've got better equipment to deal with it as he thought there was another leak aswell somewhere else which he couldn't find. So the part that needed changing was left & he just did the yearly service. After he'd gone I noticed the heating wasn't coming on so I called & asked him to come back as something wasn't right as the heating had been working perfectly 10 minutes before he did the service & it wasn't working now. He told me he hadn't touched anything & couldn't come back until the Thursday which meant waiting 2 day's !! It was freezing that week & my husband spoke to him & said he needed to come back as we hadn't got any heating & he was the last one to touch it & it was fine before he had.... He just said rightio, or something to that effect & put the phone down !!! I also text him that night to say he was out of order just leaving us like that especially as my 85 year mum also lives with us, but still no response. My husband also left another voice mail asking for our £78 back as he couldn't possibly have completed a full service knowing the boiler was leaking & not testing the heating properly. Again this was ignored. A Vaillant engineer came out to us on the Friday & fixed the problem straight away. It was the part Rob spotted but didn't change & the reason why the heating wasn't working was because Rob had pulled a wire out so the message wasn't reaching the boiler from the thermostat to put the heating on !! Now as far as I know, a yearly service means your hot water & heating etc is checked. How can it possibly have been checked & working when he'd caught a wire & pulled it out. For him to charge us £78 for a service that wasn't done properly, cause us to have no heating for 3 day's, refuse to answer any text's or phone calls & be rude enough to put the phone down on a customer is disgraceful behaviour. He is supposed to be a professional tradesman. I know he seems to have all good reviews, but I can't believe we are the only ones he has treated like this. Rob had his chance to sort this amicably but chose to just ignore us. I just want people to be aware of his work ethics before booking him.....
