Gas On Sea answered the question "What is the Vaillant boiler F.29 fault / error code?"

A vaillant boiler with an error code F.29 is related to a flame failure, we would inspect the gas main from the meter emergency control valve through to the boiler to check the inlet has sufficient gas pressure. Causes could be a gas valve knocked closed of a payment gas meter run out of credit. BoilerOne recommend you consult a gas safe registered engineer to diagnose the problem.

F29 fault code on a Vaillant boiler can appear when the inlet gas pressure is too low or there is a problem with the flue, It can also be caused by a faulty or poorly adjusted gas valve always use a local Gas Safe Registered business to check out and repair if necessary, do not continually reset the boiler.

F29 is a lock out code due to failed ignition. normally from no gas. some checks the home owner can make are gas supply. simply lighting the hob or gas fire. if you don't have gas then maybe a pre pay meter has run out or a smart meter may be in no vend mode. if you have gas then the only option is to contact a gas safe engineer.

This means the boiler has attempted to ignite to make heat several times and failed to light and has shut down awaiting a customer reset. The fault code doesn't explain why the boiler hasn't lit but often due to gas supply issues such as "Off" pre pay gas meter, ECV knocked or shut into the closed position or a faulty gas valve, fan or PCB.

Hi, I’m Greg from Landlord & Homeowner Gas Services The F.29 fault code on a Vaillant boiler is due to the boiler failing during its operation. The likely causes of this fault are: - Gas supply - incorrect earthing of boiler - Fluegas re-circulation Thanks Greg Landlord & Homeowner Gas Services
