Hi I'm Mike from Barker Plumbing and Heating this is probably the most common fault on all Combi and sealed heating systems. low pressure causes the boiler to lock out to prevent a dry fire which can often cause irreparable damage. simply refill the system by the filling loop usually a silver braided hose connected to 2 washing machine style valves requiring a quarter turn on each to refill the system. you will need to fill to around 1.5bar or on the newer Vaillant boilers with digital display the gauge on the right hand side of the display needs to have the solid black between the 2 dotted lines do not exceed to top dotted line. to release pressure if required bleed a radiator. systems lose pressure over time depending on how frequently however will suggest whether there is an issue with your heating system if you are having to fill the system more than every 3 weeks then I would suggest getting an engineer out the assess the system.

A vaillant boiler with an error code F.22 relates to low pressure within the heating circuit and boiler, to depressurise the system watch the gauge and slowly open the filling loop until the pressure reaches 1.5 Bar then restart the boiler. BoilerOne recommend you consult a gas safe registered engineer to diagnose the problem.

An f22 fault is usually due to low system pressure so you should re pressurise to 1.5 bar and the fault code will clear. if this happens more than once a year then its recommended that you have your boiler and system looked at. this could be due a leak on the system or re pressurising the expansion vessel or even a problem with the main heat exchanger.

Your Vaillant boiler has detected Low system presure . Once low system presure has been detected . It’s always best to try filling the boiler back up to 1.5 bar and resetting the boiler . If the fault remains contact your local gas safe Vaillant specialist heating experts . Who will attend and repair your boiler .

An F22 fault code is normally triggered by low system pressure. if you are getting this code more than once a year the boiler will need looking at. it is usually remedied by topping the system pressure up. no system reset is required on a vaillant as once the pressure is at operating pressure it will wipe the fault code

Hi Martin here from Chalmers Gas & Heating. F22 is low water pressure. This is usually just because the pressure is low. This can be fixed by re - pressurizing the system to 1 or 1.5 bar. Check over the system and make sure there are no obvious leaks from radiators or the boilers prv discharge ( blow off ) pipe. If the boiler doesn’t re - set after being re - pressurized, you will need to contact a gas safe registered business like ourselves to come and diagnose the issue. Usually due to a faulty low water pressure sensor.

PPH South are Vaillant advanced plus accredited installers. Vaillant fault code f.22 is low water pressure, this could be: less than 0.5 bar detected Faulty pressure sensor Lose cables. We would advise contacting a gas safe engineer to check your heating system as sometimes there could be other faults hidden such as expansion vessel and PRV being faulty.

Hello from Jonathan at Stroud Boilerworks. Vaillant F22 fault codes are quite common and usually not a big problem. F22 indicates low pressure and the boiler will shut down to protect the boiler from firing and overheating when there is insufficient water pressure in the main heat exchanger. The pressure guage will show the pressure reading or buttons can be pressed to get the digital display to read from an in built pressure sensor. To clear the fault code press the reset button and the boiler will check itself again and will restart if there is enough pressure. If you find yourself with F22 that won't reset; top up your pressure using your filling loop depending on how your installer has connected your boiler to a cold water supply. A sensor in the boiler is looking for around 0.7bar but this does vary slightly on boilers and as soon as that pressure is reached the boiler will flash into life and you will hear your pump run and the display will change from the fault code to showing water temperature. Keep your pressure low, maybe between 0.7 and 1.0 bar on this refil as you may have a leak which will require fixing. F22 fault codes can be caused by water leaks from the boiler, radiators or pipework, bleeding radiators or sometimes pressure just drops. Vaillant Combi and System boilers have internal air vents so they can vent air or leak water internally so you may need to call out a Gas Safe registered engineer to open the boiler case and inspect it for leaks.

Hi, I’m Greg from Landlord & Homeowner Gas Services. The F.22 fault is a safety shut down due to low water pressure, pressure below 0.5 bar. The likely causes are the following: - No or low water content in the boiler - Defective water pressure switch - Faulty or loose cables Please ensure all work is carried out by a gas safe registered engineer Thanks Greg Landlord & Homeowner Gas Services
