The error code F13 is due to the thermistor on the boiler. Usually the VU-/VUW boilers. Short circuits on the warm start sensor/cylinder sensor with Actostor Short circuit on cylinder sensor NTC only in combination with F91 though. Can be checked with electrical testers to confirm.

A vaillant boiler with an error code F.13 relates to a short circuit to the thermistor on the storage tank, we would test the thermistor itself and test the cables from the pcb also looking for any damaged cables or loose connections. BoilerOne recommend you consult a gas safe registered engineer to diagnose the problem.

Hi I’m Greg from Landlord & Homeowner Gas Services. The F.13 fault code on a Vaillant boiler is likely due to a short circuit in the actoSTOR cylinder sensor. The likely causes are the following: - Plug on sensor has short circuit to ground on casing. - Short circuit in cable harness - Defective sensor Please ensure all work is carried out by a gas safe registered engineer. Thanks Greg Landlord & Homeowner Gas Services
