There is alot of variations. Size/detail of the roof/property & what roof covering is going on. Planning/building regs will need to be contacted. Every area will be different to what is and not permitted. To gain a accurate price, a full site/home visit will be required. Some cases a rough estimate can be given from receiving photos etc.

For a project like this a site visit is essential and also might be worth consulting a structural engineer, as the weight is greatly increased and it is different pressure pushing the structure away from the main building. With modern flat roofing methods giving a life equal to pitched roofs its basically aesthetics to have this done, but at a very high cost compared to replacing a flat roof. The price varies from size, height, pitch, for this it’s absolutely impossible to answer without seeing the job or drawings. A site visit would be recommended, and I’d go as far as saying don’t trust anyone willing to price for this without costing the site. Different size joists may be specifically required in the architects drawings also.
