In reality there isn't one best EV charger. At Inspired Smart Living Ltd we've been fitting Hypervolt chargers in Hythe recently. We chose Hypervolt for several reasons, including that they are a home grown UK based company. They have an exciting innovative product which has all the relevant protection so there is no need for a potentially complex earth rod, and they provide over the air updates so you can upgrade the charger with new features as they become available. That's important as this is a rapidly developing area, and as technology like vehicle to grid, and solar charging become more normal, being able to add these features through software becomes important otherwise you risk having to replace the charger. Alongside the above, they have some very nice smart features, with Alexa integration so you can check on the status of the charger. Finally their support is awesome, with the ability to talk to a real person on the phone, in a short timeframe, making all the difference for a busy installer.

The Zappi 2, which is a smart EV charger that meets the current OLEV government grant criteria, is an excellent bit of kit. it has MyEnergi hardware that avoids any requirement to install a safety earth spike. It can monitor the incoming supply by data cable wire or over wifi using a MyEnergi hub, and it can be connected to a MyEnergi EDDI device to monitor and divert alternative power supplies (e.g. solar PV) to either heat hot water or charge the EV. The latest PodPoint is another good choice that is OLEV approved too..

I would go for the Zappi 2 as it was purpose built to comply with current regulations and be future proof it can negate the use of earth roads it is well constructed reliable and is also preconfigured to connect to WIFI a prerequisite of the OLEV government funding, could, have already come into being, another more expensive module is from GARO this unit can be pre-coloured to the clients specifications

This would depend on price point. There are a number of UK designed and manufactured charging points, which is a fantastic way of supporting UK innovation and economy. Andersen EV are top of the leader board for quality and design, aimed at the more luxurious electric vehicles, such as Tesla, Porsche etc... MyEnergi offer some very advanced technology within their units and are leading the way forward in the safety features provided by their EV chartering points.

My preference for ease of installation, functionality, and value for money for the customer is the MyEnergi Zappi V2. This is a particularly efficient unit when combined with a Solar PV installation and can significantly reduce the cost per mile of electric vehicles. With additional products available in the MyEnergi range to further improve running cost efficiencies.

In my opinion a Juicebox Pro 40 is the best on the market at the moment followed by any of the Siemens units, however as with most things the higher the quality the higher the cost. But it's definitely worth spending more than less. Another factor to consider is cable length if you are parking a distance away from you charger
