The obvious pros for artificial grass is there is no mowing and very little maintenance. The grass looks great all year around without bald patches under trees etc. The dogs and kids won’t be bringing mud into the house. Correctly installed will aid drainage issues. Long UV protection guarantee. Against is initial cost, the ammonia from dog wee can be quite a strong odour on sunny days as the bacteria in soil can’t break it down (it’s an easy cheap fix so not really a problem). Like any hard surface it can get hot if bare footed and stood in same place (not really an issue in the UK)
