There are many benefits to double glazed windows but the main ones are : 1) Energy Efficiency - you will noticeably feel a difference in your property temperature after installation. 2) Security - There are different levels of security that can be chosen on a window right up to secure by design standard which is an independent test that is carried out on a window to see how secure it is under attack. 3) Maintenance - Double glazing is virtually maintenance free other than a wipe down with soapy water every now and then that is all the maintenance required (apologies but the industry also can't get away from the need of having to get your windows cleaned).

Good quality, well fitted double glazing. Can reduce the amount of heat lost to the outside. It will also reduce the amount of draughts. There is added security with good quality double glazing. However, ventilation is important to keep a healthy balance of fresh air between inside and outside. So trickle vents at the top of windows are a good idea.
