There are various options you can use to arm/ disarm the alarm system. Option one would be to use the alarm key pad and enter a user code. The second option can be via a proxy tag which can be held up to the inbuilt proxy ready to disarm the system. The third option would be via a smart key fob which can be pressed to arm and disarm the system and the fourth option could be via a mobile device via the smart application if the system is connected to the internet.

This depends on which alarm system your using. When you have your alarm fitted if done by a professional installer they should tell you how to arm and disarm (turn on and turn off) your alarm system. Some ways are to enter a 4 digit code on the keypad or swipe a fob over the keypad, there are alarm systems now where you have a remote fob so you can arm and disarm it from there and also from your mobile phone if you have a system which supports this.

dependant on the set up of the system, a typical system will have a 20-30 second entry exit route, once this is triggered the timer will start, the security code will then need to be entered into the keypad which then in turn switches the alarm off other options include ...proxy tag used on the reader, another option is pressing the unset button on a remote fob or via an app set up

Disarming an alarm system is done by several different means depending on the system you have and how it has been configured. 1. Keyswitch, requires a key to arm and disarm the panel, less common these days. 2. fob, a prox tag is presented to the alarm systems keypad or arming station. 3. Code, a user code is entered usually between 4 and 6 digits in length. 4. App, smart phones and alarm manufacturers have apps for you to arm and disarm the system

It all depends on how the system has been set up. Most common is via entering a code into a control keypad. You can also have an electronic token that you put against the keypad to set or unset the system. You can also have systems that are controlled via your mobile phone. In terms of disabling an old alarm system this is something an electrician should do as it requires several back up batteries and the electrical supply to the alarm panel being disconnected

Turning off your system depends on which system you have. 3 possible methods are entering a code, code and tick or a code and enter. Your installer should know the type of system installed and would be best suited to answer. You can also ask your installer for a demonstration of your system, they should happily oblige.
