It’s generally the left side looking down your garden from the house. There’s no hard and fast rule but generally the side with the wooden posts visible is yours. Sometimes there are slotted concrete posts and panels slotted between them - in this instance the side with the least decorative side will be yours i.e. with the slats “open” at the top.
