One option would be to change the existing glass or polycarbonate roof. The roof could be changed to a solid tiled roof. There are a wide choice of finishes externally including tile, slate or a composite aluminium. The roofs are insulated and are generally plastered internally. Spotlights can be fitted internally to give a contemporary look. Skylights are also available. Generally this type of work can be carried under LABC and planning permission is not normally required.
