The cost of installing an unvented cylinder would vary massively depending on what your current system is. As a guide to swap an old vented system would cost approx £2500, It is important that the pressure and flow are checked prior to installing an unvented cylinder and therefore a new upgraded mains incoming may be required. BoilerOne recommend you consult a heating engineer with an unvented qualification to install your cylinder.

This can all depend on the install needed. Is your mains water flow, pressure and size sufficient? An upgraded mains water supply may be needed. A cylinder can cost between £400 and £1000. Is the cylinder going to be direct or indirect? A specialist can help you further an advise what is needed.

The cost here can vary a fair bit depending on what is required to fit it correctly, for example how easily it is to install a discharge pipe to outside with a constant fall on it. If the cylinder is near an outside wall, it’s often not too hard. If it’s in the middle of a house, often more difficult, time consuming and therefore more expensive. Typically about £2250-2750 would be a good estimate to supply and install an invented cylinder as an upgrade from a vented cylinder.

On average around £2,300 for a complete new installation. But there is many things to factor in which affect the price of installation. Unvented cylinders start at around £400 for a small cylinder and can go upward to around £2,000 just for the cylinder alone. The location of the installation also plays a big part on the price, if the cylinder is going in an airing cupboard in the middle of the house, the prv terminations need to be suitably terminated according to regulations.
