Quick fix windows and doors answered the question "How much does it cost for a locksmith to unlock your house?"

Price for gain entry and lock replacement would start somewhere around £65 but depending on type and style of door/lock combo you have, there are many types of locks that will range in price for instance a high security anti snap lock would cost more then a standard euro cylinder also depending if it’s a failed locking mechanism or center case would put the price up, most competent locksmiths or repairs engineers would be able to give a accurate price over the phone with just asking a few questions on door style

Price will depend on the time of day and the situation for example whether you've closed door behind you and keys inside or whether you've lost keys and want lock changed as part of the service. It will also vary depending on lock type. Generally a lock should not need to be damaged to gain entry to your home. If the first thing a locksmith does is reach for a drill turn them away

Typically prices start from £65 but that depends on what type of lock you need gaining entry to. We always recommend when calling a Locksmith to ask for upfront pricing how much it will cost to just gain entry and cost for a replacement lock if needed and also if amount includes VAT (if they are VAT registered). Any professional Locksmith should be able to give you upfront pricing by just asking a couple of questions regarding door type. Locks vary in pricing depending what type of lock you need, for example a British Standard 3star AntiSnap lock will cost more then a standard euro cyclinder lock.

Ask for a price first! Check weather there are any call out fees or VAT to be added. A honest skilled Locksmith should be able to give you a good indication of cost on the phone first with the right information, the majority of the time locks do not have to be destroyed to open doors, this can and does raise the price if Lock’s are unnecessarily destroyed.

This also depends on which part of the country you are in. I'm Dorset and the average cost for non call centre locksmiths around me starts at £75 then like previously stated the time of day and wether new parts are needed can also impact on this price. most decent locksmiths will give you a price before doing the work which you can agree or not to. call centres will always try and charge you a call out, even if you turn them away they don't want to leave empty handed as they are not bothered about repeat custom. skip the top 3 or 4 ads on Google and use a real local locksmith.

Pricing depends on time of day that you require our services, in normal working hours such as 9-5 we have a set rate for our labour but then after hours and weekends our charges go up and vary by hour. It also depends on the reasoning for needing a locksmith, if you have simply locked yourself out and we can get you in without any damage you save money by not needing your locks changed. If you have locked yourself out due to the door lock being broken or losing a key we will then have to replace parts meaning the price will go up in the value of the locks price. This can vary by the type of lock you have as some will take longer than others to get open.

Depending on what type of lock is fitted and time of day this service is required I'd estimate the cost to be between £65 - 120 for labour if a replacement lock is required a standard UPVC door cylinder would be between £15-25 wooden door lock prices can very dramatically from £9.50 to wash over £70 for a mortice type chubb lock

Prices depend on the type of lock, the time of day and wether entry has to be gained. Generally a basic Euro Cylinder change will cost in the region of £75, a Mortice Lock in the region of £90, every job is different though and all prices will be freed before work commenced. Again, completely depends on the type of door and the circumstances you find yourself in. My best advice would be to call of couple of Local Locksmiths and ask them for a Fully Inclusive price for gaining entry to your home and if required, the price or replacing and fitting new locks for you. Make sure to ask for a FULLY INCLUSIVE PRICE as many will quote you for gaining entry, the lock and fitting and then spring a "Call Out Fee" on you at the last moment. Most Locksmiths will charge a Premium for Late Night, weekend or Public Holiday call out to ensure that you double check the FULLY INCLUSIVE PRICE before agreeing. FULLY INCLUSIVE PRICING takes out the unknown and the worry, a good and respected Locksmith should have nothing to hide so give a couple a call and see what they can offer you before deciding.

There are many different types of lock as various door material, ie wooden, pvc aluminium or steel. The average price is £65 to open the lock but if the lock needs replacing then that is in addition to the opening and depends on which lock it is. Locks often found on main entrance doors are Yale type rim cylinders, mortise on wooden doors, pvc doors usually have cylinder locks while aluminium could have any of the above.

The price for a locksmith varies throughout the country. It also depends on the type of lock required opening. If the lock has failed then it may cost considerably more than a simple lockout keys inside etc. Then it depends if you use an actual local business or someone advertising as local but is in fact miles away which in our trade it’s easy to fall foul of the latter.

Prices vary in different areas. Usually a client would be asked to provide information on the door material and the type of lock. Also if there is one lock or more to open. Most local firms will give a set price for opening and not an hourly rate. Another important factor in emergency work is the time of day and the actual day. Generally outside of working hours rises gradually the later it gets and Sunday’s and public holidays are at premium rates. Our charges range from £65 to £95 plus vat

This can vary with contributing factors being the type of lock/ door, the area in which you live, whether it is out of hours and whether you have just lost keys or the lock is malfunctioning but it is always best to get a verbal estimate before agreeing to the services this way you should have a “ball park” figure to work with, always ask whether the lock will be opened non destructively ( presuming you have another key elsewhere to operate the lock) and if you are told it will be then you should not be expected to pay for a new lock. I can not speak for anyone other than my company but presuming it is middle of the day and you need a upvc door opening (euro cylinder) to which you have more keys inside then my charge is a flat £75 charge.

Hi, this can depend on a number of things such as time of day, type of lock, ie wooden and upvc doors have different locks. Is it lost keys or a failure so parts have to be factored in. I always give a price if I know what the job is so there are no nasty surprises when I have completed the job, not always the case with some other companies. hope this has helped, regards Darren ADP locksmith

It varies its dependant on the area you live in the locks you require entry to . And the time of day/night if it’s a weekday or weekend . We always give a fixed price before we start as will most reputable locksmith companies. Unfortunately some will start with a low price only to see it rocket when the start work

Lock'n'Secure Locksmiths answered the question "How much does it cost for a locksmith to unlock your house?"

This will depend on the type of lock(s) and the construction of the door, timber, steel shell, uPvc or composite. Ideally the lock will be picked so that a non-destructive entry is made but occasionally this is not possible and drilling or snapping the lock may be necessary. Clearly if there are no copies of keys available then the lock will need replacing anyway so this is not a problem. However whenever you call a locksmith you should ask what their standard method of entry is as unfortunately there are some unscrupulous operators around who will drill or damage your door by default and leave you with an unnecessary extra bill either for repairs and/or additional parts that you didn’t need. Any professional locksmith will be happy to discuss this with you and will ascertain the job at hand before arriving.
