The best time to paint new plaster is once it has fully dried (no damp patches) otherwise you take the chance of the paint sitting on the surface and not fully absorbed to the plaster. You will see the changes daily, once it has fully dried it will look all of the same shade of colour which looks a shade of salmon pink which can take any time depending on the humidity and it will take a lot longer during winter. You could be looking at three days during the summer to a week or more during winter. Make sure you don’t paint the plaster before it has dried as you run the risk of wall staining or possibly peeling.

I always say leave the plaster to dry for at least a week before painting, if you can leave it for longer the better. Leave it to dry naturally and leave windows open if you are at home and not to put the heating on hoping to dry quicker this will result in the plaster to crack. Once it's dried apply 1 mist coat of water/emulsion the seal the fresh plaster.

Anything from a day to week or more. Once the plaster has dried it will be a uniform pink colour. Plaster on plasterboard will dry much quicker than plaster that has been applied to internal render, after damp proofing. Do not leave heating on to dry it quicker as this could cause shrinkage resulting in cracks in the plaster. Once fully dried apply a mist coat of water/emulsion paint to seal the fresh plaster.
