Yes adding useable space to any property adds value. It is not a good idea to spend vast amounts of money extending without doing reaseach sometimes the costs of doing the work may not increase the value as much as people may expect especially in this current market. Also poor quality work and materials, may also reduce the value of the property as a survey may suggest the cost to bring the work up to standard will reduce the value of the property
