JCM plumbing & Heating has been running for seven years. I provide a 24hr emergency call out service, as well as planned general plumbing jobs and free quotations. In addition to this, I offer a no call out charge. I qualified as a plumber over ten years ago, and having worked for British gas and Thames water I decided to build my own business. I have a great work ethic, and I will always aim to complete jobs the same day. I have been known to offer advice and solutions over the phone to clients in emergency situations whereby I cannot get to them. I have built up a large number of clients who use me over and over for general plumbing requirements. How to fix a leaking / dripping tap?
Generally speaking it's just a case of turning off water supply to taps and removing body and replacing washers that has worn. Sometimes they might be ceramic disc taps which will require you to remove ceramic disc body and take to a plumbers merchants to try and source correct ceramic disc as there are so many different variations, so will require correct part. Once you have the correct part it's just a case of inserting new bodies into tap!
What are the common causes of blocked drains?
Food and grease are the most common causes of blockages on kitchen sinks and can normally be cleared with a good plunger or sometimes may require removing trap and cleaning. For toilet wastes the most common causes are wet wipes which should be binned rather than flushed away, if the blockage cant be removed with a plunger then it may need to be jetted from main drain, and for showers/baths its normally hair that caused blockages and generally be removed with a plunger, you can try to catch hair by placing a strainer over plug hole.
