When is the best time to paint the exterior of a house?

The best time of year for exterior painting is between the months of April and October, when weather temperatures are above 10 degrees. Paints should only be used externally above 8 degrees so the paint can fully dry and cure. The warmer the weather the better the paint will cure.

How often should a house exterior be painted?

The maintenance cycle for exterior painting would depend on the thyme of paint used for the work. If standard paints are used ie. paints that are used for internal and external work, then the maintenance cycle would be 2 years. If actual exterior quality paints are used then the maintenance cycle would be on average 5 years. The difference being standard paints can only be guaranteed externally for 12-18 months, where as external quality paints are guaranteed for up to 8 years, some products up to 10 years.

How much does it cost to paint a ceiling?

Dependant on condition of ceiling would determine full extent of works. To simply apply 2 x coats emulsion would be approx £ 90. All other works would require further costing. Also dimensions of any ceiling would determine varied costs. stripping old wallpapers from ceilings can uncover all types of historical damage and old repairs so if the ceiling has been papered then prepare for the worst.?
