The service we received by Green Roofing was very responsive despite the covid situation, acting quickly and creatively to ensure they carry out the survey in a safe manner for all involved. They produced detailed report/survey inside a couple of days of from the site visit. Overall, very professional and good value for money all round. Would highly recommended using this company for any roof related survey.

We had a persistent leak in our bathroom roof. After calling green roofing, Billy was round the next day to give his thoughts. After his approach and attention to detail, we took him up on his quote. The work was carried out in a timely manner with all waste being cleared. The new rubber roof looks sleek and does not stand out to the surroundings. Additonal insulation was required, but Billy did say this in advance in person and on the quote, with how much it would be if it needed some. (Very helpful). After this experience, i would have no hesitation in recommending Billy and this company.

Do you need planning permission to build / remove a chimney?
To remove a chimney from roof level planning permission is not normally required. However building a chimney will require this. Obviously its always best to contact your own council to find out for sure. And if the building is listed or in a conservation area, this will differ. Also, if the chimney breast in mention is shared between a neighbouring property, they will also need to be informed as this goes against the party wall act 1996
How much does it cost to build a chimney?
Alot of factors come to play when planning to build/rebuild a chimney stack. Whats the access like? Whats the roof condition around like? Also if its shared between a neighbouring property, you will need permission from that neighbour to meet the party wall act. If the chimney stack is isolated and on your roof only, this will make the process alot easier.
Can you convert a flat roof to a pitched roof?
Yes it is possible. A lot of things need to be considered before doing this. Main issue would be cost. It would also need to be examined by a structural engineer before anything happens. Once the structural engineer has gave his thoughts and requirements, the fun/work can then begin.
