The work was carried out meticulously to a high standard which is always my major concern when gas fitting is involved. The engineer was also able to provide significant advice on some planned changes to our kitchen and I cannot think of any reason why we will not be using his services for that work too.

How do unvented cylinders work?
The hot water cylinder doesn't need a vent pipe for expansion going into the loft and is mains fed from your cold water incoming mains from the street, therefore you will not need a cold water storage cistern in the loft. The cylinder is far superior to your conventional vented cylinder because the pressure will be amazing more throughout your house and will not fluctuate when multiple services are used, therefore allowing multiple shower outlets with high water flow rates to be used at the same time. These cylinders will need to have an annual service due to some safety valves and discharge pipe and general check, this is normally carried out at the same time as your gas boiler to save costs.
Why is there no water coming from my hot tap?
Before you start check all outlets of all your taps in the house and if all is fine proceed as follows below: You may have a problem with the cartridge insert, it may need to be taken out and overhauled or replaced, also there could be a scale build up on the outlet too, if the tap is thermostatic the thermostatic cartridge may have failed and will need to be replaced. If water is just a trickle you may have an airlock or your cold water storage cistern may have drained.
