How much does it cost to install wall mounted lighting?
The cost to install a wall mounted light onto a pre existing circuit, that is safe, if I was in the area and already working on your house ...probably free!! but to be called out on a 30mile round trip and be told it is above 3mtrs on the rear of the house above a conservatory would probably cost a whole lot more than free to do it in a safe manor. Each job needs to be priced on its own merits, there is no universal answer although in an ideal world everything going well id estimate £40-60, could be less if you wanted to wait until I was passing, could be more if you called me on Sunday wanted it doing on Sunday night, we always price our work fairly and on its own merits, the job is priced in a fairly scientific manor and then it includes an over head(potato sacks for me the guys to wear) and also a profit(Potato sacks for my daughter to wear). If you want a fair price for a safe neat job from a contractor who is giving local guys employed jobs and security complete with ethics and a good sense of humor then give us a call.
Are LED light bulbs dimmable?
Yes they can be, but compatibility between dimmer and LED is very important, if not matched carefully you will get low end flicker and generally not a very nice dimming range. Be warned dimming LED can give the most competent electrician nightmares. but yes it is possible. ;-) A good dimmer and a good lamp and a good electrician = brighter or dimmer times which ever way you look at it!! A cheap dimmer and a cheap lamp and a cheap electrician is well.... = Free disco strobes and generally upset client.
What is the average cost to rewire a house?
Too many variables to give an accurate average, however in the south east -typical 3 bed semi like for like re wire with a few additional points , downlights in kitchens and wet rooms etc 3-5 k un occupied , but it really depends on so may variables, main one being occupied or vacant! metal or plastic sockets etc etc most expensive rewire to date is a 8 bed 6 bath 6 reception 5 mains boards and external lights at circa 70k
