How much do decorators charge to hang wallpaper?
This can vary from one place to another i myself charge £25 on an average roll but it can go up to £35-£50 If it's a mural or a paper that requires more time ie- extra wide paper and so on. The price per roll could also change if hanging in a kitchen or bathroom where you have lots of cuts as in pipe work or sinks, cupboards and so on.
Can you paint matt over silk paint?
You first need to sand out all of the silk to a flat finish with sand paper. Normally an 80 or 120 grade is enough. After this apply Zinsser Gardz. Apply this primer to all of the sanded silk surfaces and allow to dry. Then apply your matt paint, usually 2 coats is sufficient but an extra coat is sometimes needed
How much does it cost to paint a house exterior?
Tricky question as depends on size of the exterior and in what condition it's in. I find mostly the people leave it till it's really bad to the point where you may need to burn off the old paint. If this is the case the cost will be much more then if it was done when it's still in good condition. On average every 4 to 5 years you should paint your exterior which will not only keep your exterior looking good all year round but the cost won't be as much because it's more of a maintenance paint job then a going back to bare wood and starting from scratch job.
