We live in a pair of very old cottages (early 1800s) which became one house in the 1970s. Not only are the cottages old they are built on a slope, so nothing is square, and materials used to build the cottages span a couple of centuries. We were struggling to get good advice to help us transfer from oil to electric heating and came across Andy Daughtry through an internet search. When we first met him (in early 2020) we were instantly struck by his knowledge and honesty. Andy offered us great advice, so we started to plan to completely renovate our kitchen and bathroom. Whilst trying to find suitable tradesmen to complete these tasks we noticed Andy’s Facebook pages which gave us pictures and reviews for some of the bathrooms Andy has designed and built, so we engaged him with a specific brief to go electric and renovate (redesign and build) our aged bathroom, bringing it in to the 21st century. Andy was painstaking in his approach and through using computer graphics we were able to choose a style and move forward. Due to COVID19 the project was delayed by several months, but once Andy could get the necessary materials he worked tirelessly and long hours to complete a spectacular bathroom which has exceeded our expectations in terms of fittings, finish, style, functionality and cost. Andy was a delight to have in our house for nearly 6 weeks and went the ‘extra mile’ many times by helping us out on other DIY tasks and offering advice which he has gained from 3 generations of plumbing experience. What was really impressive, however, was his approach to problem solving and his ‘can do attitude’ to all things planning, sourcing materials, electric, plumbing, plastering, painting, joining, and tiling. Lastly, Andy took pains to keep a dust cover on our carpets and meticulously cleaned up after himself every evening. We are delighted with the finished product and will certainly use Andy Daughtry for future renovation tasks, large and small.
